Trois-Rivières, April 30, 2015– Trois-Rivières en Blues is proud to announce the relocation of the festival’s main stage to the Amphithéâtre Cogeco this year. To start the festivities in style, the team will welcome renowned international artists ZZ Top to the Amphitheatre on August 21. The evening will begin with Blackberry Smoke, who are accompanying them on their tour.
After 44 years of recording and touring all over the world, the legendary Texas trio is coming to Trois-Rivières to thrill festival visitors with the sound of their blues inspired hard rock. Members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they will present their greatest hits, including “Sharp Dressed Man,” “La Grange,” “Legs,” “Tush” and “I Gotsta Get Paid,” as well as songs from their most recent album La Futura, produced in collaboration with Rick Rubin. As Billy F. Gibbons says, “the same three guys, the same three chords.” While it is a simple formula, the result is what the New York Times calls “a show that is almost perfect.”
Band members Billy F. Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard are very excited about playing their first concert in Trois-Rivières. They will have the honour of being the first international music group to step on the stage of the Amphithéâtre Cogeco. “ZZ Top is very enthusiastic about the fact that Cirque du Soleil is going to warm up the Amphithéâtre Cogeco at the grand opening in July. When ZZ Top’s own rockin’ high wire act comes to Trois-Rivières en Blues on August 21we’re sure that great times will be enjoyed by all our friends and fans in Québec. Come on out!”
