Internet purchases process

Why a virtual waiting room?

The Corporation des Évènements de Trois-Rivières wants to offer to its clients who wish to purchase tickets an equal opportunity to buy for everyone. Our Internet ticket sale goes through a virtual waiting room that provides access to tickets on a random basis (draw) rather than on a "first come, first served" basis.

Virtual waiting room process

The virtual waiting room usually opens 30 minutes before the announced time of ticket sales. It means that all Internet users who arrive in the waiting room before the scheduled time of the sale has an equal chance to access the tickets. For a show with a high ticket demand, more fans will appear in the virtual waiting room. A place in the waiting room does not guarantee access to tickets.

When the sale begins, a draw among all the present Internet users determines the access to the tickets order. The virtual waiting room sends a warning to randomly selected users when it’s their turn to choose tickets. In the case that all tickets are purchased, Internet users who have not been selected will receive a message informing them that the sale has ended.

Purchase steps

Here are the steps to follow to purchase tickets online. In the buying environment, the steps are numbered for easier navigation.

Step 1: Choose your event (if there is more than one performance of the chosen event). Get more information about your event and the Corporation des Évènements de Trois-Rivières policies by clicking on the "more info" link.

Step 2: Enter the number of tickets you wish to purchase and specify whether you are looking for contiguous or non-contiguous seats.

Step 3: Select the price category. A red line on a category indicates that there are no more tickets available in this category.

Step 4: Search for seats. At this stage, you will be able to confirm if the tickets offered are suitable for you. You can see your location on the adjacent seating plan.

If you get a message saying that there are no more tickets available in the price category you selected, it means that although the inventory still contains tickets, they are in the process of being purchased by other Internet users.

Step 5: Indicate the chosen method of ticket delivery.

Step 6: Enter your personal information regarding to pay your tickets. In addition, make sure to submit credit card and billing information associated with the card you are using for the purchase.

Step 7: Review all the details of your purchase, as this is a final sale.

Step 8: Click the "Proceed to payment" button to complete your purchase.

To take advantage of the pre-sales of the Corporation des Événements de Trois-Rivières, simply subscribe to the Cogeco Amphitheatre newsletter by clicking on one of the two welcome modules or on the tab "Newsletter"at the bottom of the page. If a presale is offered for the event you are interested in, an email will be sent to you on the morning of the scheduled date of sale.

Please note that only a limited amount of our ticket inventory is available for pre-sales. Is means that access to a pre-sale does not guarantee access to seats or the best seats.

Presales are valid for online purchases only.

Minimum age

Generally speaking, there is no minimum age required to attend to the Cogeco Amphitheatre events. In case that an age restriction is imposed, it will be indicated on the website and you will be notified when purchasing the tickets.

Why tickets are sold so quickly?

If the tickets sell quickly, it means that the event is very popular and the demand is very high. A portion of the tickets may have been sold in the presale. Moreover, with the new technologies, hundreds of purchases can be done per minute and reduce available tickets quickly. For example, if 1000 customers try to buy 2 tickets each, in less than a few minutes, more than 2,000 tickets will be sold.

As we are also fans of someone, we understand the desire to assist to our idols events. We invite you to check out our tricks to maximize your chances of buying tickets (#12 of this page).

Why are there better tickets available after my purchase?

In a sale context, when a customer receives a seat offer, our system temporarily blocks access to these seats to all other buyers to prevent the sale of the same seats to more than one customer. If the customer decides not to accept the proposed selection or if the payment is refused, the seats assigned to him will become available again for sale.

Please note that there may be a release of tickets between the time of the sale and the event. For more details on the tickets release process, refer to the "Tickets release" section below.

Tickets release

As the event approaches, the technical needs of producers become clearer, allowing us to sell tickets that are originally unsaleable for technical reasons. In addition, in the hours prior to an event, when the stage set-up and the installation of the technical equipment are completed, the Cogeco Amphitheatre and the producers adjust the capacity and release new tickets if space permits. Consequently, it is possible that tickets closer to the stage will be available after your purchase. Be assured, however, that at the time you made your purchase, the best tickets available were those you have in your possession.

Please note that as stated in our purchase agreement at http://www.amphitheatrecogeco.com , there is no exchange or refund once a ticket has been purchased.

Royalty, service and handling fees

For some of the shows presented at the Cogeco Amphitheatre, different types of fees are applicable depending on the event.

The royalty fee is a fixed charge to cover the cost of the amphitheatre maintenance, such as renovation, modernization or restoration. They are applicable on each ticket purchased.

The service fee represent the service offered when you purchase your tickets. These fees are charged by the intermediary seller to cover operating expenses such as call centres, ticket offices, web-site management and maintenance, etc. Service fees vary from depending on the event and venue. It is applicable on each purchased tickets.

The handling fee is a one-time fixed charge for the entire order that covers ticket printing and mailing in the case of a sending by mail, Internet connection fees and costs associated with a secure sending in the case of electronic tickets, and the printing and handling of tickets in the case of pick-up tickets.

Tricks to maximize your chances to get tickets

Presales represent an interesting opportunity to purchase tickets prior to public sale. We invite you to subscribe to the Cogeco Amphitheatre newsletter to access presales.

The sale system always offers you the best available tickets at the time you make your purchase. Particularly in the context of a sale, if you reject the proposal for seats and try a new search, the system may offer tickets farther from the stage.

A couple of hours before the event, it is possible that producers will release tickets. For details, see the Ticket releases section.

Please note that chances of accessing tickets are the same whether you purchase by the Internet, by phone or at the J.-Antonio-Thompson box office.

The Cogeco Amphitheatre and the Corporation des Évènements de Trois-Rivières strongly advises against buying  tickets from resellers or a third party.

Purchase from a third party – Ticket resale/ Scalping

The Corporation des Événements de Trois-Rivières and Cogeco Amphitheatre strongly advises against buying tickets from a third party. We only guarantee the validity of tickets that are purchased at the official box offices or from authorized vendors.

It’s impossible for us to determine the validity of a ticket purchased from an unauthorized reseller (street resellers (scalpers), classified websites) before the event. The validity will be confirmed at the door, at the moment of the event.

The Corporation des Événements de Trois-Rivières and Cogeco Amphitheatre would like to remind you that buying tickets from unauthorized vendors and resellers (scalpers) means putting your trust and your money in the hands of a stranger and that represents a risk of fraud.

If you have questions or doubts about this, don’t hesitate to contact us at 1-866-416-9797.

Partially obstructed vied – Limited view – Side of the stage – Back of the stage

We indicate that seats offer a “partially obstructed view” or a “limited view” when a technical object could be blocking part of the stage. Most of the time, the obstruction is not major, but we prefer to warn you since we can’t guarantee the view you will have until the artist’s stage is set up.

Weather conditions

Please note that we do everything in our power to present to our clients high-quality events of which we are proud. Therefore, we do not cancel our events due to weather conditions, unless they represent a risk to spectators and artists. For example, electrical thunderstorms and hail could cause a representation to be cancelled. However, it is difficult to issue a notice in advance. For better planning, consult the Cogeco Amphitheatre website for an update on unstable days.

Note that even if this is an outside venue, the seated section is protected by weatherproofs walls which prevent a good part of the contact with the wind and almost all the rain. The Cogeco Amphitheatre is an outdoor theatre, we advise you to plan your clothing according to the weather conditions.

Please note that after undergoing a security check, you won’t be able to leave and re-enter the premises.

Set times

For shows and other events, it’s impossible to know in advance how long each artist will remain on stage and how long the show will last. The length of the show is entirely at the discretion of the headlining artist and is subject to change without notice by the producers of the show. We recommend that you show up at the time on your ticket to be sure not to miss anything!

Also, please note that the guest artists or the “opening act” of a show are always subject to change. Your ticket is valid for the headlining artist; we won’t issue any refund in the case of a change of guest artists.
