Trois-Rivières, 19 May, 2016 - The organization of Trois-Rivières en Blues is proud to announce its new edition program presented at the Cogeco Amphitheatre. Blues fans will be invited for three evenings of pure blues music from August, Thursday 18 to Saturday 20, 2016.
Several great names of this musical style will perform on the outside stage of the Cogeco Amphitheatre. The festivities will begin on Thursday with the performances of Angel Forrest accompanied by 11 guitarists in order to interpret the titles of his most recent album Angel's 11. Singer-songwriter Sugaray Rayford, will also be part of that first night.
Friday night will first vibrate at the pace of the band Southern Hospitality with musicians Victor Wainwright, JP Soars and Damon Fowler. Canadian singer and guitarist Colin James will then take over. This Maple Blues Awards and Juno Awards award-winning artist will perform his greatest hits. The evening will be concluded by the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, a band that has sold more than one million albums with several titles that have been ranked in the Billboard Top 10.
Saturday night, fans will appreciate the talent of a local musician: Steve Hill will play the songs of his most recent solo album Recording, Volume 3 in the opening of John Kay & Steppenwolf, renowned for their mega success Born To Be Wild.
This year, the organization once again bet on a high-quality program by introducing influential blues artists.
Combine two artistic mediums: art and music.
The painter Caroline St-Pierre, native from Trois-Rivières, graciously accepted that one of her works is used for this edition official poster of the Trois-Rivières en Blues festival. The work entitled Le son du Gibs, representing a guitarist, was the perfect way to give a soul to the festival and represent the passion of the artists and lovers of this music. This is a piece from his latest collection.
