Trois-Rivières, February 2, 2015– The Board of Directors and the administrative team of the Corporation de l’Amphithéâtre de Trois-Rivières are pleased to announce a series of 3 tribute shows created by Cirque du Soleil to be presented during this summer. The first will take place at the Amphithéâtre Cogeco on July 15. This first of 3 tributes shows will be dedicated to iconic Québec music group BEAU DOMMAGE, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014.
The Show
Specially designed for the Amphithéâtre Cogeco and guided by Creative Director Daniel Fortin, the show is inspired by the music of BEAU DOMMAGE. “This is a group that was very important for a generation of Quebeckers,” said Yasmine Khalil, President of 45 DEGREES, a subsidiary of Cirque du Soleil that creates all its special events and projects like the tribute concerts. “BEAU DAMAGES’ musical universe is a very rich one. We are fortunate to be able to create a show inspired by the work of this legendary band specifically designed for the Amphithéâtre Cogeco, in addition to being presented exclusively 20 times this summer.”
“The members of BEAU DOMMAGE are being honoured and we are proud to see the band’s name associated with Cirque du Soleil. It is an honour and a true pleasure for us to see that our modest songs have been inspiring artists in their perpetual search for poetry and music,” said Pierre Huet, Author and member of Beau Dommage.

THE CORPORATION DE L’AMPHITHÉÂTRE DE TROIS-RIVIÈRES UNVEILS ITS FIRST SHOW OF THE TRIBUTE SERIES: LE MONDE EST FOU, CREATED BY CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
Trois-Rivières, April 2, 2015 - Cirque du Soleil will set up shop in Trois-Rivières this summer to present the first show of the Tribute Series: LE MONDE EST FOU. Inspired by the music of iconic Québec band Beau Dommage, the show was specially designed for the new Amphithéâtre Cogeco and promises to be a visually stunning show with great music.
Lead by Creative Director Daniel Fortin, the 75-minute show will bring together 25 artists. Directed by Jean-Guy Legault with contributions by Musical Director Jean-Phi Gonçalves and Set Designer Geneviève Lizotte. LE MONDE EST FOU, taken from the song “Le géant Beaupré,” was created to delight both lovers of Cirque du Soleil and fans of Beau Dommage’s music. “As big fans of the music and lyrics of Beau Dommage, we have assembled a creative team with the goal of offering a unique experience and creating a visual universe that gives Beau Dommage another dimension, a show that provides something for viewers of all generations” said Daniel Fortin.
