The Corporation des Évènements de Trois-Rivières and Heavy Montreal are pleased to announce that Sword will be performing at the Cabaret de l'Amphithéâtre Cogeco on January 21st, 2023. Known for their heavy metal performances, the band will set the stage on fire for the release of their new album, SWORD III.
Sword
Canadian metal band Sword was formed in 1980 by brothers Rick (vocals) and Dan Hughes (drums), Mike Plant (guitars) and Mike Larock (bass). Their first album Metalized was released in 1986 and was well received by the critics, becoming a reference as one of the best heavy metal albums of the 80s. Their second album, Sweet Dreams, was released in 1988. World tours followed the release of these two albums, including support slots with Metallica (MOP), Metal Church, Alice Cooper and Motörhead.
Following a hiatus from 1992 to 2011, the inevitable happened: Sword regrouped. In recent times, the band was only playing shows on demand, including a series of sold-out shows in Canada. The band even had a headlining slot at the Harder Than Steel festival in Germany. The long-awaited third self-produced studio recording (Sword Arts & Entertainment) SWORD III will be released on November 25th on Massacre Records.
The band will be back on the road in January 2023.

Sword's show will be presented on January 21, 2023 at the Cabaret de l'Amphithéâtre Cogeco in the form of general admission.
